Registered Nurse Accused of Practicing Beyond the Scope of Her License

In this matter our client received a notice of disciplinary conference from IDFPR that she changed insulin doses on one of her patients without the authority of her supervising physician. At her disciplinary conference in Springfield, Illinois we were able to establish that she was a certified diabetes educator in the SIU Division of Endocrinology and that her supervising physician authorized the change in doses. We submitted affidavits from our client’s supervising physician regarding her scope of authority and how it was maintained at all times. This matter was closed with no discipline.
