In this matter our client was accused of pulling hydrocodone from his facility’s inventory machine and not giving the full amount to certain patients as prescribed by physicians. Prior to attending an informal disciplinary conference with the nursing board our firm did research into the allegations and found that his facility had an outdated protocol for wasting narcotics that made it difficult for nurses to prevent diversion issues. Furthermore, we were able to establish that his facility did not terminate our client and that the complaint came to IDFPR from an employee’s disgruntled husband. This matter was closed with no discipline.
